Her first novel “The Sister Queens,” debuting in 2012 and published by New American Library, explores the bond between sisters Marguerite and Eleanor of Provence, 13th century queens of France and England. After graduating from Wooster, she earned a law degree at Northwestern University but left the practice of law to pursue artistic interests, including writing. She recalls in the bio on her website that she declared her major before anyone else in her class during the first quarter of her freshman year. Perinot, a history major at Wooster, has always had a passion for the subject.

Perinot and her fellow authors suggest these women are part of a pattern of forgotten females in history.
